Honoring Our Unusual Veterans

Formally known as Armistice Day, Veterans Day was originally established as a U.S. legal holiday in 1918 to commemorate the end of World War I and to honor the war’s veterans. In 1954, Congress changed the holiday to Veterans Day, in order to account for veterans in all wars.

Though Veterans Day was established to honor living veterans, we believe this day is a great reminder to pay our respects to all of those who have served our country in order to protect the freedoms of the American people. Today, we salute the Unusual Veterans and their families who have made many sacrifices for our country. Thank you for your service!
