Eric Peter is a Partner at Unusual Ventures and is particularly interested in enterprise applications of machine learning. Eric is a firm believer in keeping the customer's voice front and center and continually driving toward a deeper understanding of, "Why?" Prior to Unusual, Eric was a Product Manager in Google Cloud’s Artificial Intelligence team, where he led teams of engineers, designers, and product managers to build machine learning-based products that addressed enterprise customer’s highest priority business problems. Eric also spent time as a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), advising CXOs at Fortune 500 clients in the technology and telecom (TMT) industry on strategic initiatives across a range of topics. In addition to leading client projects, Eric was an expert practitioner of qualitative and quantitative consumer research, creating tools and techniques that were adopted worldwide within BCG. Eric holds an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) and a BS in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis.
I immediately resonated with Unusual’s vision to serve early-stage founders by providing tactical, hands-on help within the functional areas—beyond product, design, and engineering—that are required to scale a company. I believe this approach—seconding expert operators from other highly successful startups to join technical founders full-time for 3-6 months in order to kickstart their company with recruiting, sales and marketing support—will become the new standard demand by all early-stage entrepreneurs. Beyond this, I believe that Unusual’s approach of taking investment from socially conscious LPs will help significantly expand the impact of every entrepreneur’s hard work.
